This cardamom is cultivated with zero pesticides by Utz k’aslemala collective of indigenous Q'eqchi' Mayan Families in the Quiche region, located in the northwestern highlands of Guatemala. 

The plants are nurtured using ancestral practices and the Mayan worldview, which values harmony with nature and all living beings. After harvest, the cardamom is dried and toasted over firewood, preserving its rich aroma and flavor.

ABOUT THE MAYAN COLLECTIVE UTZ K'ASLEMALA:

 Utz K'aslemala is collective of Mayan families from Guatemala, including artisans, farmers, musicians, timekeepers, dancers, and Mayan ball players. They aim to share Mayan spirituality trough a worldview of reconnection and integration with divinity. Their activities are guided by sacred fire ceremonies, performed in unity the energies of the universe and the earth.
